Danuta Antas Contemporary Abstract Landscape Art & Photography

Poland based expressionist abstract landscape artist Danuta Antas is a versatile professional. She leverages her expertise in art, photography, graphic & web design and in Art education. She obtained MA Degree in Graphic Arts and Art Teaching as well as in British Cultural Studies. Her contemporary paintings and photography reflect both, deep love to nature and the artist’s spirituality.

In my expressionist abstract landscape paintings, I try to catch a moment and make timeless the changeable – light, colours, movement, mood and the momentum. I believe that art has the power to transform people’s life

The major theme of my artistic interest and inspiration is nature in a broad sense. I focus on a speechless interaction between a human being and a certain piece of reality – wheter it is landscape, single tree, flower or a city life scene. Meditative approach to an encountered place lets me sense its energy and discover its metaphorical meaning. I interpret outside world and natural environment through 'inner eye lenses’. My works, either abstracts or landscape paintings, photography or pen&ink drawings, they all document my emotional attitude to the world I live in. To express myself, the art language I speak through is colour, texture, movement, lines and  light especially in landscape paintings and landscape photography.

I do not limit myself in my creative process and use various media – oil, acrylic, watercolour, pencils, markers, pen & ink, monotype. Photography usually plays a role of a creative diary, yet sometimes it lives its own life. I also do not like to stick to one theme.
